How much proxy data do I need? +
Multiply the number of requests or sessions by the average transferred size, then add a buffer for retries, redirects, authentication, and other overhead. This calculator handles that math for scraping, monitoring, streaming, and account workflows.
Does proxy data include uploads and downloads? +
Proxy bandwidth normally includes traffic sent and received through the proxy. Use the transferred size from your own test run rather than only the final HTML or file size, because headers, scripts, images, redirects, and uploads can add data.
Why should I add a bandwidth buffer? +
Real workloads rarely succeed on the first request every time. A buffer covers ordinary retries, redirects, session setup, and response-size variation so the estimate is not sized to a perfect run.
Are residential proxies suitable for streaming? +
Streaming can consume hundreds of gigabytes quickly. Use the streaming preset to measure the likely bandwidth, then compare bandwidth-priced residential plans with unlimited-bandwidth ISP proxies before choosing.
How can I measure average transfer per page? +
Run a representative sample and inspect the transferred bytes in your HTTP client, browser network panel, or HAR file. Include successful requests and normal redirects, then use an average rather than the smallest response.
